Stag Support Services came into our family’s life during a time of immense crisis with my son exhibiting extreme, violent challenging behaviour, which resulted in him being unable to attend his special school and overnight respite. We had previously had other care agencies let us down and left with a feeling that our son was so challenging, that nobody would cope, and the horrible feeling like our son was a burden. Stag Support Services look to find solutions to problems and have a proactive approach to any barriers they may face.
It is hard to trust in new Carers, especially when your child is vulnerable and non-verbal but they put my mind at ease during the initial introduction process and continue to provide a level of care that we are so grateful for as a family, and my son always enjoys his time with them, something which has not been the case in the past. Stag also give you the feeling that the staff really enjoy their jobs, take pride in their work, and that your child’s wellbeing is always their top priority, no matter the issues they may face Stag, have a strong team of positive, resilient, experienced and highly trained staff. They have been responsive and adaptive throughout our time with them. They support my son’s bespoke education programme by safely transporting him and most importantly work to deliver it with the support of other professionals involved. They also take my son to social opportunities and have good ideas of things that he would enjoy, which takes the pressure off us.
They are always on time and totally reliable, and work in a way that I wish was standard within the care sector. Stag have literally changed our life as a family and given us hope that our son can have a happy life. All he needed was the right educational environment and the right people to support him, so we can continue to look after him in the family home, in conjunction with support agencies like Stag that will deliver a high level of specialist care that the most vulnerable and complex children need.

Mum to one of our fantastic young people.
I cannot speak highly enough of Stag, they gave my child a new lease of life. Stag supported us as a family, with consistent staff, they never missed a session in 3 years. Stag are experienced and knowledgeable, no behaviour was too challenging for them. Stag provided opportunities for my child that gave her a better quality of life. We had tried lots of agencies before Stag that could not meet my child's needs, but Stag went above and beyond for us. I felt safe knowing that no matter the situation, the Stag would have the skills to keep her safe. Any family that gets the opportunity to work with Stag should consider themselves very lucky, they are truly incredible people.

Mum to Flo, who has severe and profound complex needs and is also fun and fabulous.
Stag Services started working with our family when they were a new service. Our son, Ivon was given amazing opportunities and received the best care while being supported by the team. Ivon was supported on a 2-1 basis and had a team of around 8 carers, so we had consistency, and he had familiar faces to build those important relationships. He has severe nonverbal Autism with personal care needs, due to this we have to place a large amount of trust in support staff and we never worried once. We were communicated with well during his outings, to places like Dalby Forest, Scarborough, wildlife parks and swimming to name just a few, and staff were always reliable and friendly. We cannot thank David and Kim enough for the support they gave our family, not just Ivon, their service was invaluable. We 100% recommend Stag Services to other families needing respite care.

Mum to Ivon, who has severe Autism and high support needs and brought us joy in every single session.
Stag have played a massive part in our family and helping ollie to be himself again.
Over the last couple of years Ollie has had many challenges including some extreme behaviours, frustrations and hormones. This has led to him needing 2 to 1 support. Stag have a fantastic team of workers who have spent the time to get to know Ollie, build his confidence back up and bring him out of his shell.
We can’t thank them enough for this and all the support they have given us as a family.

Mum to Ollie – one of Stag’s biggest characters!
I have had the pleasure of working with Stag and a number of their staff over the past 3 years.
Stag have successfully supported 3 of our pupils who have the most complex of needs. They were able to provide support both in the community and in the school, where recruitment for suitably trained school staff was proving a challenge.
The staff directly supporting the young people do so with the utmost professionalism and it is clear that they work hard to build strong relationships within their teams and with those that they care for.
Communication between school and Stag is strong and staff are always willing to share ideas and seek support when needed.
Senior Leaders attend multi agency meetings, supporting the young person and their families. In my experience reports are thorough and really reflect the young person, it’s clear that they really know them, working on the positives whilst at the same time acknowledging where there are challenges and how they are working to reduce these.
